Where you’ll be

The holiday flat is on the ground floor at the rear of the house and is arranged around a small courtyard. Both living areas face the garden. Due to the sloping nature of the plot, the garden lies about 6 metres (2 storeys) below the flat, meaning you can enjoy the wonderful, unobstructed view across the Sehmatal valley towards Geyer.

The flat is equipped for two people, with the option of accommodating a third person on a sofa bed. It comprises a living and dining room with a kitchen area, a bedroom and a bathroom. The living area has a television and Wi-Fi; guests are also welcome to join you for meals – crockery, pans and pots are provided for four people.

The kitchen is designed for self-catering. After a long day out, it’s therefore ideal to prepare an evening meal or a hot meal in the holiday flat. The usual kitchen appliances are available for this: an induction hob (4 rings) with an extractor hood, a combi oven (microwave/fan-assisted), a fridge with a freezer compartment and a dishwasher – and you can make coffee too.

We love the bathroom, with its walk-in shower, oak washbasin, underfloor heating and genuine slate. The lime-free water from the Ore Mountains doesn’t leave any unsightly marks here! :) If required, a washing machine with a tumble dryer, as well as an iron and ironing board, are available in a separate room.

The living and dining room is situated in the large vaulted hall, which is almost reminiscent of a monastery cloister. This vault was not primarily designed to bear loads, but was intended to protect the goods stored there in the event of a fire. We hope that you, too, will feel safe and secure in the flat. With the sometimes harsh weather of the Ore Mountains, you have a cosy retreat here.

The district town of Annaberg-Buchholz charges a fee (€1.80 per day) for the ‘Erzgebirgische Gästekarte"’. With this guest card, you’ll receive a wide range of benefits and discounts on admission to museums, events and guided tours.

The guest card will be waiting for you on the kitchen worktop upon your arrival.

Amenities

A central location in Europe does not necessarily mean good accessibility.

Mining towns are not situated directly next to motorways, international airports or high-speed rail lines. But even in historical times, people and goods had to reach the town, so it is possible.

By car, take the A72; the most convenient exit is ‘Stollberg West’. At weekends, you can park for free right outside the door; on weekdays, park in the side streets. There is a multi-storey car park on the market square.

By train, there is a scenic route via the Erzgebirgsbahn from Chemnitz. The ‘Untere Bahnhof’ station is actually deep in the valley between Annaberg and Buchholz. A transfer to the flat is advisable.

The “Wolkensteiner Tor” coach station, on the other hand, is just a 5-minute walk away. For a budget-friendly journey, we recommend a combination of a long-distance coach to Chemnitz, followed by a regional bus service, which takes an hour to reach Annaberg.

Wolke 33 is the perfect holiday flat in Annaberg. Wolkensteiner Straße is a major shopping street and the main road leading into the town from the east. It’s less than a 5-minute walk to the market square.

All the shops you’ll need for your holiday are nearby. In the neighbouring building is the ‘Freiluft’ sports shop, which hires out ski equipment and offers guided tours in the Ore Mountains in both summer and winter.

On the other side of the holiday flat lies the valley. The view of the greenery – and, in winter, hopefully of the snow – is pure relaxation. The sun won’t be tickling you out of bed, but you can enjoy the sunset instead.

The cuisine of the Ore Mountains is simple and hearty. And people seem to go to bed early, as restaurants rarely serve hot meals late in the evening.
